I vividly recall as a child our family trips out to the dentist, a trip which I particularly disliked. I hated the smells and sounds ... the anticipated pain and well, just the whole experience which was exacerbated by the fact that my brother and sister always seemed to breeze through what I considered to be just trauma.

So when I arrived at university this was my opportunity to totally avoid an uncomfortable situation and avoid I did. In fact, I successfully avoided the dentist for a number of years ... until in my mid/late twenties when tooth ache attacked with a vengeance. It was at this time I began a conversation with Dr Lightowler, explaining my fear of the dentist but also my current need for treatment due to being in pain. Dr Lightowler's  manner was extremely calming and containing and after the initial consultation - the outcome of which was that I required 3 fillings and a tooth extraction. I was horrified! Throughout the procedures - all for of them - Dr Lightowler was exceptional, she made me feel calm and in control, explained each step of her work and ensured I was comfortable throughout. I noticed my anxiety eased with each visit and although I can't say I like going to the dentist, I certainly don't fear it to a point I avoid going.

Dr Lightowler has not only restored my teeth and gum health but also my confidence in attending the dentist. I cannot recommended Dr Lightowler highly enough.

Dr Lightowler has completely transformed my experience of visiting the dentist.

I was petrified and however much I tried, my fears prevented me from being able to even sit in the dentist's chair. Since going to see Catherine, I have overcome some of these fears and now comfortably attend for regular checkups.

Catherine is sensitive, understanding and re-assuring. She will not push you into anything you feel uncomfortable with and always gives you lots of options and talks you through things. She is highly trained and aims to meet everyone's needs and I know that if I need any treatment I will be well looked after. Catherine is fantastic at her job and I can not thank her enough for looking after my teeth.

The best dentist EVER!

I used to have a serious phobia.... Catherine was totally fabulous with me and most importantly so patient that I now have regular check-ups and, although I'll never say I love going to the dentist, the biggest achievement is that I actually go now! Couldn't have done it without her!
